Thunderbolts claim number of medals at weekend meet in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – Members of the Thunder Bay Thunderbolts returned home from the Prairie Winter International meet with a haul of medals.

WINNIPEG – Members of the Thunder Bay Thunderbolts returned home from the Prairie Winter International meet with a haul of medals.

The club was led by 16-year-old Emma Schlyter, who collected a total of six medals, four of them gold, and also hit the senior national qualifying mark in the 400-metre and 800-metre freestyle events.

Other strong showings were posted by 13-year-old Lindsay Puhulski, who won four silver medals and one bronze, including an age group national qualifying time in the 400-metre individual medley.

Cameron Johnson, 14, claimed one gold and one bronze while achieving an age group national time in the 200-metre breastroke and 13-year-old Emma Covello earned a pair of bronze medals.
