Assist number one for Tougas came on a Zac Sentence marker nine minutes into the contest and he followed that up earning a helper on Mike Mapledoram’s tally just 12 seconds later.

His third point of the opening period came shorthanded as he fed Ryan Powell for his league-leading 10th of the season at 17:23.

Charlie Debungey would give the Eagles some life early in the middle frame only to see the Hawks answer back on goals by Ehren Menard and Powell’s second of the night to make it 5-1 after 40 minutes.

Josh Elvish would round out the scoring in the third helping the first place Hawks improve to 7-0-1 on the year while dropping the Eagles’ record to 0-7-2.

Markus Leikkari made 14 stops to pick up the win for the Hawks who peppered Curtis Barker in the Eagles net with 55 shots.

Next up on the league schedule sees the Jr. B Stars hosting the Nipigon Elks Thursday evening at the Tournament Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
