Entering Friday’s final against Churchill, the Gryphons had rolled through the competition this season, sporting a perfect 16-0 record.

But that’s why games aren’t played on paper.

The Trojans, 10-6 to this point, stunned Superior Collegiate 67-35, forcing a decisive, winner-take-all second game in the series on Tuesday.

Brandon Myketa scored 26 to spur the upset, with Tim Baxter and Lloyd Claridge scoring a dozen apiece.

Alex Robichaud, who has committed to play at Lakehead next season, could only manage 12 in a losing cause.
