The St. Patrick Fighting Saints are having a rough season of senior boys basketball.

The Hammarskjold Vikings definitely weren't the cure.

On Tuesday the Vikings (9-1) spread the scoring around, with Alex Sebesta collecting 11 points and Matt McComber 10 as they went on to an easy 53-29 win over the 1-11 Saints. Adam Goose had 13 to pace St. Patrick in the loss.

It was one of three blowouts on the senior court.

Elsewhere Matthew Quarell had 14 points to lead the St. Ignatius Falcons (6-5) over the .500 mark with a 58-30 triumph over Superior Collegiate (5-6).

Nick Soulias had 13 points and Nathaniel Murray a dozen for the victors.

Not to be outdone, the Churchill Trojans kept pace with Hammarskjold, improving to 9-1 with a 60-34 over Westgate.

The Trojans were led by Kurtis Heidrick's 14-point performance. Jeremy Yocum's 10 led the Tigers (2-8).

On the junior boys court, St. Ignatius toped Superior 43-13 and Westgate knocked off Churchill 54-37, staying perfect in the process. Jordan Shonosky had 22 to lead all scorers.

In senior girls volleyball it was Dennis Franklin Cromarty sneaking past La Verendrye 2-1, Hammarskjold doubling St. Patrick 2-1, St. Ignatius beating Superior 2-1 and Churchill edging Westgate 2-1.

Hammarskjold swept St. Patrick in junior girls volleyball, while St. Ignatius upped their record to 12-0 with a 2-1 win over Superior and Westgate won the battle of the basement, getting past Churchill 2-1.
