Thunder Bay's Brennan Wark is heading to the Canadian Junior Men's Curling Championship.

Wark on Sunday scored a 7-3 win over Sudbury's Dustin Montpelier foursome at the Atikokan Curling Club to capture the Northern Ontario crown.

Wark, whose team includes lead Joel Adams, second Kyle Toset and third Kristofer Leupen, took a 2-0 lead in the second, stretching it to 4-1 in the fifth with a deuce. After blanking the sixth end they stole one in the seventh and two more in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

Thunder Bay's Karlee Jones didn't fare quite as well on the women's side in Sioux Lookout. The Jones rink, which finished 6-1 in the round robin, fell 7-1 to Kendra Lilly of Idylwylde in Sunday's final, the two teams shaking hands after eight ends.

Nationals are slated to begin on Feb. 4 in Napanee, Ont.
