Devin Welsh had a career night Friday at the expense of the York Lions.
Welsh, a fifth-year forward with the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team, scored twice and added two assists to help the Wolves cruise to a 7-2 road win.
Mike Quesnele equalled Welsh's output scoring twice and adding a pair of helpers of his own in the lopsided triumph, that also saw the Wolves get goals from Matt Caria, Trevor Gamache and Victor Anilane.
Mitch Fillman had three assists and Ryan Magill added two as Lakehead moved one game over .500 at 3-2-0.
Tyler McGee and Rob Labute replied for the Lions, beating Alex Dupuis twice in the second period.
The two teams will close their two-game set on Saturday at Orillia.
