Former Thunderwolves goalie Chris Whitley is set to make his European debut on Saturday.

Whitley’s latest club, the Dundee CC Stars, take on the Fife Flyers in Elite Ice Hockey League exhibition play.

Whitley spent the past two seasons playing for the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League. Earlier this offseason he was dealt to the Wichita Thunder, but the 28-year-old never reported, announcing his overseas plans about a week later.

The Oshawa native was 24-10-2 last season and guided the Americans to the CHL final.

Also on the ice in the United Kingdom on Saturday will be Whitley's former teammate Scott Dobben, who is suiting up for the Cardiff Devils. Dobben and company will take on another familiar face to Thunder Bay hockey fans, former NHLer Jeff Heerema, who toils for the Nottingham Panthers.

It's Heerema's fifth season in Europe and second with the Panthers.
