Jylisa Williams is taking her talents overseas.
The Canadian Interuniversity Sport women’s basketball player of the year has inked a one-year deal to play with Oberhausen in the German Dament Basketball Bundesliga.
Williams averaged topped the country, averaging 28.8 points a game in her second and final season with the Lakehead Thunderwolves, leading her team to the OUA semifinals.
The Atlanta native led the nation with 4.0 steals a night and was seventh in rebounding, with 9.3 boards per game.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity to play for the city of Oberhausen,” said Williams in a release issued by Slam Sports Management.
“I will bring my passion, hard work and dedication to this team and will aim for nothing less than a championship season.”
Evo New Basket Oberhausen had a 5-17 record this past season, and finished 11th in the DBBL standings.
“Jylisa is a great all-around player who can play three positions, score the ball, and play great defense,” said Wim Van Ek, Oberhausen Head Coach. “She also has a great mentality and that is what we need in a season where every game will be like a championship game.”
