Six days after suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of the Carleton Ravens, the Lakehead Thunderwolves are back in the win column.

Brendan King had 21 points on Friday night, leading the men's basketball team to a 91-76 win over the York Lions, improving their record to 6-1, with one game left before the Christmas break.

Ryan Thomson had 15 and rookie Adam Johnson pumped in 14 for the Wolves, who survived a 28-point attack by York's Richard Iheadindu.

Johnson also had four steals.

Lakehead, which trailed by three at the half, outscored the Lions by 10 in the third quarter and eight in the fourth to pull away.
The Wolves were 9-for-16 from three-point territory and grabbed 14 offensive boards, six more than their opponent.
