OTTAWA -- The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team is still looking to put together a complete game.
That did not happen Friday night as the Thunderwolves fell 3-2 in overtime on the road to the Carleton Ravens at the Ice House.
As has been the case for much of the season, Lakehead found a way to take an early lead.
It was Kelin Ainsworth who put the Thunderwolves on the board first in the opening period, beating Carleton goalie Francis Dupuis on an odd-man rush.
However, as has also been the case a lot so far, the Thunderwolves would not be able to hold it.
The Ravens took the lead with a pair of second period goals. Matt Stanisz broke shutout bid of Lakehead netminder Justin McDonald at the 12:49 mark before Michael McNamee put Carleton ahead in the final minutes of the frame.
Lakehead was able to force overtime, with Ryan Magill netting the equalizer with three minutes remaining in regulation.
However, in the three-on-three overtime segment Joey West was able to end the game by sliding the puck past McDonald.
Carleton outshot Lakehead by a 58-29 margin.
Lakehead (3-4-2) sits fifth in the OUA West.
The two teams will face off in a rematch on Saturday.
