Wolves hoops squad jumps to No. 2 in nation

A weekend split appears to have helped, not hurt the Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s basketball team in the weekly CIS rankings.

A weekend split appears to have helped, not hurt the Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s basketball team in the weekly CIS rankings.

The Wolves (10-2), who beat Laurier on Friday, only to lose by three points on the road on Saturday, jumped up a spot to No. 2 in the nation, behind the 12-0 Carelton Ravens.

The men’s hockey team didn’t fare quite as well, after a Saturday road loss to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
The hockey squad, ranked seventh a week ago, dropped a spot to No. 8.

The women’s wrestling team jumped two spots to No. 6, while the men’s team made an appearance on the rankings, slipping in at No. 9.
