Luke Judson is coming home.

Well, close enough.

The Emo, Ont. native confirmed on Monday that he’ll suit up next season with the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

A five-year veteran of the Ontario Hockey League, Judson captained the Belleville Bulls for the past three seasons. The right-winger capped his junior hockey career with an 18-goal, 39-point season with the Bulls and scored 85 goals and 164 points in 266 career games.

Judson, 21, spent the 2007-08 season with the SIJHL’s Thunder Bay Bearcats, a campaign that included a 10-game stint with the Bulls.

“It’s exciting to be able to suit up for the team I grew up watching in Thunder Bay,” Judson said, reached by email.

“I'm looking forward to playing in front of family and friends and helping Lakehead win a national championship.”

Judson, who was not drafted by an NHL team, was Belleville’s fifth-round pick, 99th overall, in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
He was twice invited to the San Jose Sharks training camp, and was recently ranked No. 2 overage player in the OHL by the HockeyWriters.com.

The Thunderwolves, who have yet to confirm Judson's signing, were contacted for comment for this story, but did not immediately return the interview request.
