Wolves men fall in OUA opener

The Lakehead Thundewolves only lost once in first-half play last year.
The Lakehead  Thundewolves only lost once in first-half play last year.
The men’s basketball squad will have to run the table between now and Christmas to equal that mark, after dropping an 87-72 season debut decision on the road to a highly respected University of Toronto squad.

Seventeen points from Jamie Searle and 15 from Brendan King weren’t nearly enough to overcome a Toronto offense that saw five players hit double figures, led by Anthony Digiorgio’s 17-point, eight assist effort.

The Wolves led 25-20 after the opening 10 minutes, but failed to win another quarter after that.

Lakehead (0-1) will take on York on Saturday night.
