The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey squad, which lost veteran goaltender Kyle Moir to graduation after last season, have tapped the Western Hockey League once again for his replacement.

Team officials on Wednesday announced a commitment from Jeff Bosch, who spent the past four seasons in the Western Hockey League, where he compiled a 3.57 goals against average in 182 games, the majority with the Regina Pats.

Bosch, a native of Martensville, Sask., spent the past season tending goal for the Kamloops Blazers, where he posted a 3.42 goals against average, with three shutouts and a 25-23-5 win-loss record.

“I’m very excited to be coming to Lakehead University,” Bosch said in a release issued by the team. “After taking a tour of the campus and the city, I knew it would be the perfect place for me to get an education and help take my hockey career to the next level.”

Moir, who joined the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies for a game after the OUA playoffs, lost the starting job to Alex Dupuis in last year’s playoffs and posted a 5-2-0 record with a 3.28 goals against average in nine regular season appearances.
