Wolves swept in London

A two-minute stretch cost the Lakehead Thunderwolves a chance at victory on Saturday night. Josh McQuade and Kevin Baker scored 1:53 apart in the second period, vaulting the Western Mustangs to a 4-1 home-ice victory.

Josh McQuade and Kevin Baker scored 1:53 apart in the second period, vaulting the Western Mustangs to a 4-1 home-ice victory.

Jason Furlong opened the scoring for the Mustangs, beating Alex Dupuis at 1:42 of the opening period. Andy Zulyniak evened the score at 14:07 with his third of the year.

Keaton Turkiewicz scored into an empty net to round out Western’s offence. The Wolves, who host Brock at home next weekend, fell to 13-6-1, while Western (16-1-3) extended its OUA West lead to seven points.
