Wolves women fall below .500 with one-sided loss to Windsor

A poor start proved to be the downfall Friday night for the Lakehead Thunderwolves women's basketball squad.

A poor start proved to be the downfall Friday night for the Lakehead Thunderwolves women's basketball squad.

The Wolves were out-scored 29-11 by the host Windsor Lancers in the opening period and could never find their way back to even ground, dropping a lopsided 79-52 decision that dropped them below .500 at 7-8 on the season.

Lindsay Druery led LU with a dozen points, two more than teammate Carolyn Fragale.

Jessica Clemencon, always tough on the Wolves, had 17 to pace the No. 2 ranked Lancers. Bojana Kovacevic, Korissa Williams and Miah-Marie Langlois each had 11 points for Windsor.

The two teams will hook up again on Saturday night.
