Wrestlers seventh at McMaster Invitational

Lakehead's wresting team came out of the McMaster Invitational in the top 10 teams at the tournament, edging out Guelph and Western to finish seventh.

Lakehead's wresting team came out of the McMaster Invitational in the top 10 teams at the tournament, edging out Guelph and Western to finish seventh.

Brock Wrestling Club won both the men's and women's divisions, capturing the team banner in the process.

Lakehead's women placed second as a team overall, an achievement helped by sending a full slate of wrestlers in all weight divisions. The men's team finished tied for 8th with Triumph Wrestling Club.

Lakehead's women captured three silver medals, courtesy of Megan Smith (48 kilograms), Bre Beh (55 kilograms), and Kate Beaulieu (82 kilograms).

The men's best finisher was Devon Lozej who placed fourth in the 54 kg division. Preston Mikulasik placed fifth in the heavyweight division, one place back of OUA champ John Fitzgerald of Guelph.
