Young hockey stars shine bright

The 27th Robins Annual Minor hockey tournament was held in Thunder Bay.

THUNDER BAY -- It was a weekend full of hockey as per the 27th Robins Annual Minor Hockey Tournament held in Thunder Bay. This year once again saw over 145 teams competing from all parts of Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba.

The Port Arthur Minor Hockey Association run event provides competition events for five-year-olds up to Midget 17 and 18. The five clubs with PAMHA supplied volunteers to staff the eight rinks in use throughout the city. Competition lively, players and parents were treated to some great games and catch up on old friendships during the weekend. With approximately 30 out of town teams, the economic impact on the city and its businesses comes as a bonus during the usually flat post-Christmas season.

Pictured are some images from the Atom A division, Westfort Maroons in their games against the Superior Stars and a thrilling tied game with the KC Whalers on Saturday.
