Adelaide Zussino

Mrs. Adelaide Zussino age 95 years, a resident of Bethammi Nursing Home, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. She was born on Christmas Day in 1922 in Taipana, Italy. She met her husband Giovanni and they were married in Italy. They had two children, Giuseppe and Tiziano, and they moved to Canada in search of better opportunities for their family. They eventually laid their roots down on Court St. where they were close to all the downtown action. Adelaide was an avid gardener who took great pride in her vegetable garden and flowers. She grew so much food that friends who visited never left empty-handed. She enjoyed shopping in her free time and could usually be found in Eaton's, The Treasure House or Finnport. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed the time spent with them during family meals, birthdays and other special occasions. Sundays were a day of gathering with her girlfriends and enjoying a cup of coffee and a treat from Harri's Bakery. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Joe (Stella), daughter-in-law Lucy, grandchildren: Michael (Tina), Steven (Lina) Johnny, Josie and Jessica (Al) Lauzon, great-grandchildren: Chiara, Bianca, Angelica, Eva, Vienna, Landon, Madelynn and Rosalie, and her half-sister Maria (Luigi) Noacco in Italy.

She was predeceased by her husband Giovanni and son Tiziano.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Luigi Filippini presiding. Interment to follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.
