Peacefully, with her nieces and nephews at her side, Adeline (Lee) Pugsley passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 in her 101st year, having lived a full and happy life.

Born January 24, 1917 to Flora and Nicolas Capricci, she grew up in a large and vibrant family in Westfort. Upon her father’s death when she was 20 years old, the duty of being an older sister and helping to take care of the family fell upon her; a duty she accepted with grace and love as part of her Catholic upbringing.

She worked largely in retail until her marriage on July 16, 1957 to then-prominent lawyer Stephen Pugsley. She was a devoted wife, outgoing and social, and she enjoyed especially her time entertaining family and friends at their cottage and at their lovely home. She was an amazing cook who also had impeccable taste and a flair for interior design, decorating and gardening. She enjoyed her time working as her husband’s legal secretary in the latter years of his career.

Predeceased by her husband in 1983, she lived in her own home, continued to entertain family and guests, and drove her own vehicle until she was 95 years old. Despite her modest upbringing, she always displayed a remarkable graciousness and style, right to the end.

Adeline was also predeceased by her parents, and all of her siblings: Louis Capricci, Mary Rakus, Joseph Capricci, Vincent Capricci, Florence Gutwein, Rose McChristie and Pauline Capricci. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her nieces Dawn (Mark) Oiffer, Marie Mucha, Arlene Capricci (Paul Jasiura), and nephews Laurie (Wynn) Capricci, Robert (Karen) Capricci, and by her great-niece Missy (Jason) Wren, and her great-nephews Tim (Jenn) Capricci, Jon Capricci, Alex (Shannon) Oiffer, Lindsay (Andrea) Oiffer and Jamie Mucha.

Funeral services will be held at St. Agnes Church, where she was a lifelong parishioner, on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
