Albert James Lionel Huntrods

Mr. Albert James Lionel Huntrods, age 70 years, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.

Albert was born on July 4, 1947 to Lionel and Mavis Huntrods. He married Maureen Carsell and they shared over 47 years together, until her passing in 2016. They made many incredible memories but Albert missed her deeply. He worked for over 30 years for A.G. Simpson in the Shipping/Receiving Department as a “crazy” lift truck driver. More recently, he was a cleaner for Service Master Clean. Albert enjoyed the people at George Jeffrey Children's Centre. He was a very friendly and memorable guy. Albert was sociable and wouldn't think twice about talking with complete strangers. He was known for his bad, outdated jokes, but also as a man who was upbeat, and very generous. He loved kids and especially his beloved dog, Nikki. Albert was also really passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoyed cheering them on.

Albert is survived by his daughter Dorothy Fitzgerald (husband Tracy) and grandson Kyle Fitzgerald; siblings Jim Huntrods, Bob Huntrods, Dennis Huntrods, Roy Huntrods, Shirley Huntrods, Linda Earl and Cathy Mackley and their mother Mary Huntrods as well as numerous other relatives.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Maureen (2016); father Lionel, mother Mavis and an infant sister; father-in-law Quintin Carsell and mother-in-law Florence Carsell.

Funeral Services for the late Mr. Albert Huntrods will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Albert to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Lung Association or Crohns and Colitis Canada would be greatly appreciated.
