Alfie Garofalo

It is with broken and devastated hearts that the loving family of Elfreida “Alfie” Garofalo announces the sudden passing of our beautiful mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend.

Alfie was born in Port Arthur on June 27, 1962 to Nicky and Mike Garofalo. She is the loving big sister to Rosie (RoseMarie Mancusa) and Bianca (Garofalo-Barten).

Alfie graduated from the Travel and Tourism program and went on to become a Travel Agent for some time before moving on to the retail industry where she provided many people in the community with exceptional service that always came with a beautiful smile.

Alfie is the loving and dedicated mother of two wonderful children Sierra and Luke, whom she raised as a single-mom and later with the help and guidance of her dedicated partner Domenic Galati.

Alfie excelled at many things in her life but there was no greater accomplishment on this earth, than her role as a mother. Alfie felt the most joy and peace surrounded by her kids and her two cherished nephews Jack and Charlie whom she never failed to include in every activity she planned with her own children.

Alfie found comfort most recently spending time with her elderly father Mike and could be found having a coffee and a donut with him virtually every evening she was not at work. Our father looked forward to this time together and lit up every time she visited.

Alfie also had a special place in her heart for her brother-in-law “G.G” (Gino Mancusa) whom she leaned on for help and advice and "B.B" (Britten Barten) whom she enjoyed having deep conversations about life and beyond.

Although Alfie felt the love that surrounded her and fully appreciated all the words of support and encouragement, especially from her loving cousin & friend Libby (Halvorsen) with whom she shared a very special bond, Alfie struggled with finding peace of mind. Her beautiful soul needed to move on sooner than when it was intended. She is now in true peace as she has joined her loving mother Nicky who has embraced her and has wiped away all of her tears.

A Celebration of Alfie's life will take place appropriately on her birthday, Wednesday, June 27th at Bight Restaurant - 2201 Sleeping Giant Parkway located at the Waterfront. A private service by invitation will be held prior followed by an open visitation from 1:30 to 3:30 pm for anyone who wishes to visit with family or remember our sweet Alfie by sharing their fond memories of her.

In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy to the family, an education fund has been set up for Sierra and Luke on GoFundMe.com (under Education Fund Garofalo) for their University tuition.
