It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred Franklin on Oct. 17th 2016 at the age of 85 years. He was born in Belair Manitoba on Oct. 25th, 1930 to Arthur and Hannah Franklin.

Alfred spent many of his younger years working in bush camps in Manitoba and Ontario before starting his career at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool where he spent 35 years until his retirement in 1988.

His greatest joy in life was his family and he loved visiting with any who stopped by to see him. He also enjoyed gardening and lending a helping hand to any project that his friends or family had on the go. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marion (Dozak) Franklin as well as his sons Edwin (Annette ), Kenneth, Alan (Anne) and Leonard (Vera) and 4 granddaughters Megan, Maddison, Taylor and Charmaine (Chris) Enders and one great granddaughter Alexi. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy (Bud) Smith and Michael (Florence) Franklin of Drumheller Alberta and his sister in laws Rose, Edith, Joan and Evelyn Franklin as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Hannah, brothers John, Jim, Bob, Bill, Fred and Edwin and sisters Edith, Elizabeth, and Florence. Brother in laws Fred Martin and Art Illson. 

Funeral services will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home on Monday October 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2-4 p.m. at Jenkens on Sunday October 23, 2016. 

In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
