Alice Marie (nee Vaillant) Rusnak, age 55, of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away on December 2, 2018.

Alice was born on February 18, 1963 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, the third child and daughter of Raymond and Yvonne Vaillant. She graduated from Fort William Collegiate High School and went on to attain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Lakehead University. On September 2, 1988, Alice married the love of her life, Brad Rusnak. After many happy years as a couple, travelling annually between San Diego, CA and Thunder Bay, ON for Brad's music career and Alice’s nursing profession, they were blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Ella Rae, on August 19, 2007. Ella was the light of Alice’s life and the greatest gift that she ever received. Alice’s passion was nursing and she treated all her patients like family. To know Alice is to love Alice. She was a loving angel to her family, friends, patients and strangers.

Alice will be so dearly missed by all those who had the incredible blessing of meeting her. She made each person feel so special and so loved. It was a gift Alice shared freely and eagerly with all those around her and it is a gift we will sorely miss. Alice will live on in every heart she touched, in every soul she met.

Alice is survived by her husband Brad Rusnak and daughter Ella Rae of Thunder Bay, Ontario; mother Yvonne (Vaillant) and Lou Vesh of Thunder Bay, Ontario; sister Janice and Rod Smith of Sherwood Park, Alberta; nieces Katherine and Caleb Bischoff, Kimberly Smith, and Kristine Smith; brother Dennis Vaillant of Bradenton, Florida; nephew Trae Vaillant of Tampa, Florida; sister Noreen Vaillant of Exeter, Ontario; nieces Sarah and Vanessa Vaillant; nephew Robbie Vaillant; father and mother-in-law Mike and Marge Rusnak of Thunder Bay, Ontario; brother-in-law Greg and Mary Ann Rusnak of Waterdown, Ontario; niece Lauren Rusnak. She was predeceased by her father Raymond Vaillant and sister-in-law Shawn Vaillant.

A service in celebration of Alice’s life will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help fund Ella’s future education.
