With great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Allen (Al) G. Drabek, son of predeceased parents Carolyn and George (Jiri) Drabek, Grandparents Vera and Wendell Korchesky.  Born in Thunder Bay. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Anita.

After meeting in 2001 Al and Anita quickly became inseparable, excited to marry in 2002.  Together they enjoyed good times with friends.  Al and Anita enjoyed vacationing in many sunny destinations whenever the chance allowed with Hawaii being Al’s favorite.  Al’s love for Anita was very apparent and both enjoyed spoiling each other.

Allen graduated Hammarskjold High School and continued on to further his education earning a Welders certification.  A man of many talents, Al worked at UTDC but felt the call of the sky and went on to earn his pilot licenses, holding an Airline Transport License and Class II Instructor. Al had a varied and successful career at all levels.  He also instructed aspiring pilots early on at several flying schools in Thunder Bay.  Al progressed on to Bearskin Airlines where he flew as a Captain for many years before leaving for new challenges.  Time with CanJet Airlines in Halifax, Skyservice and Fox Flight both in Toronto, where he travelled throughout the world, before returning home to Thunder Bay.  Al was pleased to accept a position to be Assistant Chief Pilot for Perimeter Airline and was working on his qualifying requirements at the time of his passing.

Al proudly was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 612, Beamsville Ontario, belonging to the men’s pool club.  Many patio dinners were enjoyed with friends from around the Niagara area.

Gone too soon you are, devoted Husband, Great Friend, you will be missed

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society or Murillo Mutts.

A private family Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

You loved me for your whole life, I will love you for the rest of mine.
