Alma Elizabeth Methot (nee D'Aoust), 90 years of age, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital on April 7th, 2015 with her daughter & her family by her side.
Alma was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay and had worked at Can Car during WWll. She married her husband Alphonse George in 1945 and spent the next 50+ years caring for her family. She was compassionate about her religion and was a member of the St. Margaret's CWL for over 50 years. She enjoyed working with her hands, knitting, sewing, cooking and gardening. Listening to music was her favourite pass time and dancing to a good beat was something she found hard to resist. Young children always brought a smile to her face and sparkle in her eyes.
She was predeceased by her husband Alphonse Methot, her sons Mario and Leon, her daughter Melanie Mikkola and her granddaughter Charmaine Mikkola, as well as all of her siblings and parents Elizabeth and Arthur D'Aoust.
A BIG thank you goes out to the caring staff of St. Joseph's Hospital 4N for being her friends and family to the end of her life.
A Mass will be held in her memory at 10:00 AM on Monday April 13th, 2015 in St. Margaret's Church, 88 Clayte St., with internment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens on Oliver Road. If friends so desire donations may be made in Alma's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Thunder Bay.
