It is with great sadness that the family of Alma Patricia Kempe (nee Robbins) announce her passing.  She passed away peacefully at home with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Alma was born October 03, 1942, in Fort William, Ontario and spent most of her early life in Blake township where she grew up and later began raising her family there. She married the love of her life Bill on November 5, 1960, and they were married for over 56 years until his passing in May 2017. They began their journey together on 100 acres in Blake Township where they began to raise their 5 children. The family later moved to Edward Street where she watched as the children all grew up and left to start their own adventures. Alma and Bill eventually retired to Midland Street where they enjoyed many hours in the back yard with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Alma worked for many years at Mount MacKay Feeds and later for Lakehead Media. She was a devoted wife and mother that was extremely proud of all her children. She loved children and in particular her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brightened her day even during her illness. There was not a day that went by when she did not think of what she could do to brighten the day for them by playing a game, baking, or making a craft. She was the best Oma in the world! She spent many hours helping others and loved to knit and crochet for the many babies and children that came into her life. She loved to garden and enjoyed spending time with her children telling them how gardening should be done. Alma was selfless and she lived to make others happy and content, that is what made her happy. She was generous and would give in any way she could, her time, her knitting and crocheting or her energy. She never complained and made the best even in the toughest times.

Alma is survived by and will be missed tremendously by her children Ron (Karen), Larry (Hope), Darrin (Clare), Tamara and Jolene (John).  She will also be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren Jason (Tanis), Kurtis (Meagan), Danyelle (Mike), Alex, Samantha (Tevin), Dylan, Tristen, Electra, and Michelle, and her 5 great-grandchildren Matthew, Avery, Jessica (the Prime Minister), Charlette (Miss Charlette) and Allivia (Boss Baby).  Alma is pre-deceased by her husband Bill Kempe, her parents Delbert and Julia Robbins, her brother James Robbins, her brother-in-law Mel Kempe, her sister-in-law Susanna Bakker, her brother-in-law Bill DeVente, her brother-in-law Gerry Bakker, her sister-in-law Betty Woods, her brother-in-law Bob Woods and her sister-in-law Henrietta Kempe and nephew Bernie Jr. Goliboski.  Alma is survived by her brothers Allan Robbins and Lloyd Robbins and her sisters Gale Bloye, Irene (Bernie) Goliboski and Clarice (Marvin) Wideman, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at the Nor-Wester Resort Hotel and Conference Centre on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
