Mr. Alvin Zapfe, aged 87 years, passed away peacefully after being called home to glory with His Lord and Saviour on January 8, 2019 at St Joseph’s Hospital.

He was born on July 26, 1931 in Port Arthur, Ontario to Arnold and Ragna Zapfe. He was the oldest of 4 children. Alvin worked as a sheet metal worker for Lampshire & Terry. Alvin loved the outdoors, hunting and sitting around the camp fire playing songs including, 'Why Me Lord". He enjoyed his homestead at Whitefish Lake until his declining health forced him to sell. Alvin’s passion was sharing the Gospel and he volunteered his time to local bible camps. Alvin never married. He has left a void here on earth and will be missed by all including his PSW’s at Sister Leila Greco where he resided. Predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Westfort Baptist Church with Pastor Allan Piper officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Internment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to Westfort Baptist Church, Round Lake Bible Camp or the Leslie Hale Ministries would be appreciated.
