Mrs. Anastazia Kinash, age 92 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died in St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, October 12, 2015.
She was born in the Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1964 settling in Fort William. Anastazia married Nestor Kinash in November, 1964 in the Church of the Transfiguration.
She enjoyed gardening and was especially fond of Susie her pet Spaniel of twelve years. She is survived by her son, Zbigniew and wife Kim of St. Catharines, Ontario; brother, Walter Pielich; niece Irena (Ryszard) Kania and family and great niece Agnes (Marek) Jaworski and family all of Thunder Bay, plus Henryka Pielich and family in Poland and Joan Bigger and family of St. Catherines Ontario.
Predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Anna Pelych; husband Nestor, May 2002, sister-in-law Mary Pielich, November 2005 and nephew, Zbigniew Pielich. Funeral services for Anastazia will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 when family and friends will gather for Liturgy in the Blake Funeral Chapel at 10:00 am celebrated by Rev. Vladimir Chvets. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm with Panachyda at 7:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff on 2C TBRHSC and 5S and 4S at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Anastaczia Kinash will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
