It is with very broken hearts that we announce, on Wednesday, March 18th 2015, our beautiful Andrea Cahill peacefully passed with her family at her side.

Andrea was eager to be born one Friday, March 27th 1964, in Beardmore, Ontario, during what was one of the biggest snowstorms in years.

Andrea spent her childhood and teenage years in her hometown of Beardmore, where she met her sweetheart Earl.  After graduating from Geraldton Composite High School, Andrea moved to the big city of Thunder Bay, where she later graduated from Confederation College with a degree in Law Security.

After graduating, Andrea and Earl moved to the real big city of Ottawa, where they lived with their cats until her graduation from Carlton University in 1989 with a BA degree in psychology.  Andrea married Earl, her high school sweetheart in 1989, and was blessed with a beautiful baby girl in 1993.  Returning to Thunder Bay in 1994, Andrea and Earl were blessed once again with a baby boy in 1995.

Andrea worked numerous years with Aboriginal Affairs Canada, where she formed many friendships with coworkers, which she held close to her heart.  Andy was always one to find friendship in all, as she was the easiest person to love.

Andrea played numerous sports growing up, and in her adult years.  She loved to play hockey, baseball, and curling, and excelled in them all. Her favorite passion was of course spending time with her kids and family at the camp on the beautiful shores of Lake Nipigon, where many of the best memories were made.

She loved to sit by the pool on the deck in her backyard with her family and dogs, reading her books.  Her hammock in the shade of the trees was always her favorite spot to nap in the summer sun.  Andrea also loved taking photos, and was always the eye behind the lens at so many family functions and in everyday life.

She was a very skilled artist, who passed her love for creativity down to her daughter, and a skilled cook and baker, which was passed down to her son.  There was never a single thing Andrea did that she wasn’t good at, including being a wife, mother, daughter and sister.

On behalf of Andrea and her family, we would like to extend a giant thank you to all the nurses and doctors who have contributed to Andrea’s care through her hard fought journey.

Andrea will be forever loved and missed by her husband Earl, daughter Samantha, son Brendan, mother Ginette and father Glen, brother Glen (Lisa) and their children Abby and Grayson, brother Cam (Johanne) and their children Joshua and Jessica, and brother Richard, numerous aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, 88 Clayte Street presided by Rev. Ciaran Donnelly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Andrea’s memory to the St. Joseph Hospital, Hospice Unit.
