It is with unbearably heavy and broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Grampy.

Grampy was the pilot and heart of our family, and there will never ever be a greater family man. He was our anchor and our wings, and though we are lost without him, we are forever shaped by his steady love, presence, and guidance. Grampy carried generations on his shoulders. He was more than just a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a dad to us all. Our teacher, our protector and our greatest pillar of support. Grampy was the heartbeat of our world.

He taught us what family really means by showing up day after day. He gave us memories that will last lifetimes, and lessons that will carry us through the rest of our lives.

Grampy's love was quiet, but oh was it powerful. His love lived in his actions, in his silent sacrifices, in the comfort of simply knowing he was there, and in the gentle ways he held our world together.

His wisdom didn’t come from books, it came from living the most incredible life. A life full of love, adventure, hard work, and doing right by others. He always knew when to speak and when to simply listen, and he understood the importance of patience, loyalty, and never giving up on the people you love.

Grampy built his own little piece of paradise on Clearwater Lake where he loved more than anything to spend all of his time with his favourite people. He was a legendary float plane pilot, the very best moose hunter, and a skilled fisherman. The wilderness was his second home, and the stories and tales he leaves behind will be told around campfires for generations to come.

His absence is felt so very deeply, but the love and legacy he leaves behind will guide us always.

Grampy will be forever missed by his family, who love him fiercely and unconditionally.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved and dearest friends — Herman, his closest, most treasured friend and brother by heart - and Brian, a true and irreplaceable friend, and faithful fishing and flying partner. The three of them shared many cherished moose hunting trips and adventures together. And Mike, his loyal lifelong friend, who he also shared countless adventures with.

He will be fondly remembered by his many neighbours on Clearwater Lake, especially dear Joanne, and Cathy and Peter, as well as the many friends he spent his time with in the far north. He will also be remembered by countless others whose lives he touched.

We love you so very much Gramps.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service.
