Angie Legros

On Dec.23 2017 we said our final goodbyes to Angie Legros, aged 68, after a valiant battle with breast cancer. Angie was born on March 26,1949 in Hollond as Anja Lientje Sinke.

She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951, at the age of two years. The last 16 years of Angie's life was spent living in Upsala as the proprietor of Open Bay Lodge. For four years Angie and Ray welcomed their guests to the Resort. After Ray's passing her son Michael and daughter in law Sherrill joined her to continue operating the Lodge.

Angie is survived by her sons: Michael (Sherrill) VanderHooft, granddaughter: Amy Kevin (Jenny) VanderHooft, grandsons: Kalvin, Kameron, and Kaden; Mother: Grace Wymenga (Sinke); Sister: Wilma (Hank) Bekkering: Jane, Eric and Ellen; Stepdaughter: Laura Legros; Jessica and Christine. Angie was predeceased by her husband Ray Legros in 2005; her son Colin Grant VanderHooft in 1978; her first husband Peter VanderHooft in 1993; her father Izaak Sinke in 1974 and brother Wim Sinke in 1953.

A viewing for Angie will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 2 - 4 pm at Blakes Funeral Chapel. We would be honoured to share your memories of Angie at 2:30 p.m. . In lieu of flowers, donations to the TBRHSC Foundation Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
