It is with great sadness that we the family of Mrs. Ann Vitassi (nee Loda) announces her peaceful passing at age 83, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at St. Joseph's Hospital - Hospice Unit.

Ann was born on February 14, 1932 in Port Arthur, Ontario.  She attended Cornwall Public School, Hillcrest High School and Business College.  She enjoyed working for North American Life Insurance Company for 11 and a half years.

Ann and her loving husband, Enrico, celebrated 60 years of marriage on October 16, 2014.  They were blessed with a daughter and a son.  Ann devoted much of her time and energy as a homemaker and caregiver to family members, especially her son.  She was a caring landlady to her tenants at Westwood Apartments which she owned and managed with her husband for many years.  Ann's warm, loving spirit will be remembered.

Ann was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church.  In her younger years she enjoyed playing the mandolin and dancing.  She was a superb cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.  She loved gardening and took great pride in creating beautiful outdoor flower gardens at her home.  Other interests included listening to music, reading, watching movies and spending time with family at the Hicks Lake cottage enjoying nature.  She loved animals and adored her daughter's miniature schnauzers, Max and Molly.

Ann will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Enrico, daughter Susan (Ari Merilainen), son Brian, sister Stella (Sergio Belluz), niece Monica Belluz, niece Leanna Belluz (Bruce Meiklejohn) and great niece Halina Meiklejohn as well as numerous other relatives also survive.

Ann was predeceased by her parents Peter and Josefa Loda, her in-laws Giuseppe and Amelia Vitassi, as well as other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Luigi Filippini of St. Anthony’s Church.  Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew’s Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ann's memory to a charity of your choice.
