Ms. Anna Stilla (nee Marrello), age 89 years, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021, at Hogarth Riverview Manor, with family by her side.

Anna was born November 18, 1931 in Grimaldi, Provincia Cosenza, Italy. Anna was the eldest of a large family among two sisters and two brothers. She married the love of her life, Gennaro, in 1954. Like many others from the same region, Gennaro immigrated to Canada to prepare a place for his family, and she joined him where the family made their home in Port Arthur in 1953. Together they raised their two sons, Pasquale and Albert.

Anna expressed her passion and talent cooking and baking. Anna tirelessly spent her time making the most delicious Italian meals and desserts. Once lunch ended, it was time to begin making dinner. Anna took pride in her cooking and her food was loved by family and friends who joined at her table.

The matriarch of the family, Anna was a devoted woman of strong Faith, and dedicated her time to her family and Devotion. Anna’s dedication to, and love for her family came first and foremost.

Anna was a gifted gardener and spent much of her time at the family farm in Murillo, where she enjoyed time in her greenhouse and garden, tending to her plentiful vegetables, fruit trees and caring for the many animals she and Gennaro shared. She also found joy in travelling with Gennaro to their home in Italy to visit family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Pasquale (Peggy) and Albert (Casey); grandchildren Kayla (Bryce Myllyniemi), Brooke (Brodie Smith), AnnMarie (Andrew Makkinga), Bradley (Kiirsti Rathje) and Daniel; great-grandchildren Hayley and Colten Myllyniemi, Letti and Mailyn Stilla, Claire and Parker Makkinga; siblings Vincenza Romano, Antonio Marrello, and Natalina Falbo as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anna was predeceased by her loving husband, Gennaro; brother, Nardo Marrello; brother-in-law, Luigi Romano; father and mother, Alberto and Maria Marrello; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pasquale and Rosina Stilla.
