Anne (Antje) Toering January 1, 1924-November  24, 2017

 Anne Toering was born to parents Izebrand and Trintje Bolt in TenBoer Groningen Holland. The oldest of ten children she was often put in charge of caring for the younger ones. Ann worked as a nurse in a mental hospital. In 1952 she visited family in Thunder Bay, returning to Holland to begin the process of immigrating to Canada.  She met John Toering here and they married in 1960.  Having no children of her own she grew close to many of her nieces and nephews. Together Anne and John settled in the Vickers Heights area. In 2011 they moved to Jasper Place where she lived until her passing.  Anne was a founding member of Hope Christian Reformed Church, and claimed the spot of the oldest member.

Survived by Brother: Cor(Fenny) Sisters: Eunice Voetberg; Susan VanderWees; Tinie Doppenberg, sisters-in-law: Ann Bolt, Trina Bolt, Janet Bolt, Fokje Toering-Postma. Predeceased by her husband John Toering: parents Izebrand and Trintje: Brothers Robert (Elsie), Eddy, Harold, Pete, and Sam (Jansje), brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law John Voetberg; Len VanderWees; Bill Doppenberg; Anna and Coen Bijlsma; Tjitske and Theo Woudstra; Jaap Toering;

A private family burial at Stanley Hill cemetery will be followed by a memorial celebration service at 1 p.m. Nov 28, 2017 at Hope Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Robert Hoekstra officiating. Memorial donations will be gratefully received for Thunder Bay Christian School or Hope Christian Reformed Church.
