It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Anne Ferris, aged 97 years, a resident of Pinewood Court with her family by her side on Saturday, November 7th, 2015.
Anne was born on February 16th, 1918 in Dauphin, Manitoba. She married the love of her life, Alfred Ferris, in 1939. They were married for 72 years. Anne was a business woman who owned and operated Iky’s Groceteria for over 35 years in Cadillac, Quebec.
Her heart and her generosity knew no bounds. She devoted her life to her husband and then to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was well known by all those who loved her as “Siti” and she lived her life with grace and compassion.
She was especially happy surrounded by her family and she was exceptionally proud of every one of them. She was the matriarch of our family and she will be remembered by all those who knew her. Anne is survived by her children Donald (Wendy) Ferris, Doreen (Bert) Frechette, grandchildren Shari (Derek) West, Dwight (Marty) Ferris, Warren (Deb) Ferris, Burt (Shelley) Frechette and Dawn Ferris.
Great grandchildren; Brittany, Katelyn, Zachary, Kiira, Reece, Julia, Ryann, Ella, and Braylon. Sisters-in-law; Laurice Wright and Margaret Ferris and several nieces and nephews. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Thunder Bay Regional Healthy Sciences Foundation Northern Cancer Fund or Cardiac Care Unit would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Klassen and the staff of Pinewood Court, especially to all the staff on Blue Heron. We are forever grateful for the special care given to Anne.
Anne Ferris will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
