It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne (Kostynuk) Jensen on Monday, March 20, 2017, at the age of 85 years.

Anne was born February 4, 1932 at the home of Mrs. Brunton, a midwife in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. She was raised in a small hamlet know as Alcona, on the C.N.R. rail line. She attended school in Sioux Lookout until grade 10, when she moved to Port Arthur to attend Port Arthur Collegiate and Hillcrest High School. Upon graduation she worked at the News Chronicle.

Anne worked very hard in her life, raising her family. She loved the outdoors, gardening, cooking, and reading. She married Walter Sitarik who predeceased her, and later in 1971 she married the love of her life, Jorgen (John) Jensen. They were always together, and in 2015 they celebrated 43 years of marriage.

She and John loved to go camping, which they did every summer for many years. Another pleasure they enjoyed was every Sunday they would dine out for supper. They were also very fond of dogs.

Surviving are daughters, Linda (Thor) Johansen, Marilyn (Allen) Vibert, Lorraine (Al) Foster; sons Walter and James Sitarik; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Germain; brother-in-law Jack Gilbert; nieces and nephews.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, Jorgen in 2015; daughter, Jane Phillips in 2014; her parents, Kost and Catherine Kostynuk; sister, Elizabeth Gilbert; and brother-in-law, Steve Germain.

Private Burial will take place in the family plot in Sunset Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Joseph's Hospice.
