Ann Marie Bouchard

It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. Anne Marie Bouchard. She was born in Beardmore, Ontario on August 10, 1953. She passed away peacefully at home in Gull Bay with her family by her side on October 8, 2020. This was her wish.

She is survived by her husband Patrick Bouchard and their children, Priscilla (Ian), Norma, Norman (Karen) and Alison (Lance). Her grandchildren, Njay, Theron, Aaron, Kristen, Trevor, Shundel, Karlee, DaNell, Uriah, Marcus and Joshua. Her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Emilia and Rosalie. As well, she is survived by her sisters, Donna and Bernadette (Wayne). Her brothers, Greg, Tim and Irvin (Laura). Anne Marie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved.

Anne Marie was predeceased by her mother Adeline Morriseau and her father Gilbert Nowegijick. Her brothers Kevin and Glenn.

She loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed cooking and preparing for family meals and gatherings for all occasions throughout the year. She especially loved spending as much time as she could at our log cabin located on Jackfish Island on beautiful Lake Nipigon.

She was a natural helper. She loved her family, friends and community. She continued to work for as long as her body and health allowed for her. She continued to expand her knowledge and further her education even later in life so that she can continue her work, she loved to help others whenever she could. She enjoyed working with the community and her passion was in the social service field.

Anne Marie spent much of her time volunteering in many capacities throughout her life. She was pivotal in the establishment of the Annual All Native Goodwill Hockey Tournament held in Thunder Bay. She organized hockey tournament trips for youth, as well she organized youth baseball teams and a mini league for the youth in our community. She also volunteered with Sacred Heart Church in Gull Bay, she helped plan and prepare for baptisms and helped prepare youth for confirmation.

She was a woman of faith and she loved Jesus and the Lord our Father. We believe she is gone to heaven and we believe she is well and healthy, no more pain or suffering.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord.

Philippians 1:23
For I am hard-pressed between the two having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better.

Our Mom will forever be in our hearts and she will live on in our memories. We are proud to call her our "dear", "Mom" and "grandma".

Our family would like to thank our mother's health care teams both in Thunder Bay and especially to The Liver Transplant Clinic at Toronto General Hospital. We thank Dr. Woods and Dr. Lilly for their many years of providing the best possible health care for her. We truly appreciate your dedication.

We will travel home with our Mom on Sunday October 11th, 2020. Wake will begin Sunday evening at our family home. Funeral services will be held in Gull Bay at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday October 13th, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Father McDougall presiding. Following burial, we invite you to come to our family's home for a celebration of her life. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that you please come prepared to visit with a mask and please be prepared to visit outdoors to allow for physical distancing. Please also utilize hand sanitizer which we will do our best to have available. We apologize for these extraordinary measures and limitations, but we need to consider the safety of our visitors and our family.

"I've never been to heaven. I didn't know what it was like, but God let me have a glimpse in my dream last night and I could see you smiling. You were looking right at me. For the first time in a long time on your face I saw some peace. I knew everything was going to be alright".

Lyrics from the Song "On the Other Side”
