Mrs. Anne Mary Spicer, of Isabella Retirement Residence, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in St. Joseph's Hospice with family by her side.

She was born and raised in Fort William, attended Isabella School and FWCI, then worked at the Grain Exchange and later at McKellar General Hospital until her retirement.

Anne was an avid gardener, enjoyed entertaining, painting in water colours, travelling and family gatherings, but most especially loved her grandchildren, Jonathan and Heather.

She enjoyed a very healthy and long lived life, with her final years in the company of the good acquaintances, friends and staff at Isabella Retirement Residence.

Anne is survived by her son, Rod, daughter-in-law Lorie and daughter Laurie Anne; grandchildren Jonathan and Heather; sisters-in-law Joyce MacKay and Shirley Spicer; numerous nieces and nephews as well as her life-long friends Irma and Elmer Auld and Laverne Malinoski.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert and daughter Cathy; her parents Malcolm and Mary Mackay; sisters Ada Robinson, Marybelle Childs, Marian Samec and brothers Rod Mackay and Murdo MacKay.

Memorial Services for the late Anne Spicer will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, officiated by Rev. Joyce Yanishewski of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Mountainview Cemetery.

Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Anne to the George Jeffrey Children's Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
