Anne Rosalie Bannon

With our deepest sympathies, the family of Mrs. Anne Rosalie Bannon by her side, sadly announces of her passing at the age of 75. A lifelong member of Fort William First Nation. She was born in Fort William, Ontario on May 23, 1943 and grew up in Squaw Bay. She met her husband Richard and they raised 7 children.

Mom was a very caring, loving, thoughtful and helpful Mom, Grandma and would do anything for you, but also told you like it was. After kids were old enough, she was a Red Cross homemaker for 15 years until retiring. She was a natural sports woman, playing in baseball, broomball, grand aggregate champ in curling and Boston Bruins was her favorite team. She was happy when they finally won the cup again. She would always watch and cheer on kids, grandkids playing hockey or baseball. She was our # 1 fan and most vocal supporter. She also loved playing bingo and going to the casino. More recently she had an extended visit in Minneapolis with family and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there.
Mom was
predeceased by her husband Richard Bannon Sr. in 2012, twins at birth, her parents Alphonse and Josephine Fenton, sister Mary, brother Gilbert and sister Dot, grandson Adam Ahola. Mom is survived by children Anita (Tony Collins Sr.), Steve, Florence Ahola (Mark), Patricia (Rob), Bev, Anna and Richard Jr., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by siblings Rita Yvonne and Laverne (Sioux) Fenton (Myria).
