Annie Major
June 28, 1919 - September 5, 2016

Mrs. Annie Major, age 97 years, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, on Monday, September 5, 2016 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by her loving family.

Annie was born on June 28, 1919 in Fort William. She was one of nine children to John and Mary Martin and was educated locally. Annie dedicated her life to making a wonderful home for her family.

Her children and grandchildren were her world and she always looked forward to time spent with them. Annie had a strong faith, and it comforted her to the end. She was a big fan of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Annie eagerly cheered them on right up until her passing, enjoying one more win with her family on Sunday. Annie also loved baking, something she continued to do at age 97.

She was always sure to give family and friends a little treat when they visited.

Annie was a loving, respectful and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She instilled values in us all, that we will hold on to throughout our lives.

She will be deeply missed by all of us.

Annie is survived by her seven children: Valerie Demers, Roger (Loretta), Barb Mastalerz, Brenda, Pete (Val), Randy (Wanda) and Terry (Ian) Robertshaw; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren as well as her sister, Helen (Bill) Plouffe. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

She was predeceased by her husband, Orele; her parents, John and Mary; three brothers Nicholas, Michael and John and four sisters Anastasia, Dorothy, Olga and Jean as well as her sons-in-law Patrick Demers and Zig Mastalerz.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Annie Major will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00AM in St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Rey Ronquillo. P

rivate family interment will take place in Cloud Bay Cemetery. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Annie to St. Elizabeth Church or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
