Antonia Gama, age 80, passed away peacefully at Kingsway Lodge, St. Mary's Ontario on Sunday November 6, 2022.
Antonia was born on April 28,1942 in Borba, Portugal. She immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s to start a better life. Portugal never left her heart and she travelled back countless times.
Although Antonia was employed at several jobs over the years, her favourite job and the one she took the most pride in was being a mother, grandmother and housewife. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, baking, visits with her friends, events at the Portuguese association hall and cheering for contestants daily on the Price is Right, but cooking and feeding those she loved was her greatest joy of all. Her children and grandchildren all have special memories of recipes that grandma made.
Antonia was predeceased by her parents, and husband Alfredo.
She is survived by her children Carlos (Celeste), Maria (Dave), Elizabeth (Dave), grandchildren Kevin (Maria Joao), Marlene, Danny (Christina), Nicole, Andrew, Nicholas (Sydney), 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 16, 2022 in St. Anthony’s Church - 123 Hilldale Road Thunder Bay, Ontario. A private family entombment to follow.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 7:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m at
Jenkens Funeral Home (226 Syndicate Avenue S Thunder Bay, Ontario. Prayers to commence at 8pm.
