Mrs. Arlene Florence Gelmich (Bailey) passed away peacefully on Wed Aug 2nd, 2017 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre with her family by her side.  Arlene was born Aug 22nd, 1935 to Arthur and Phyllis Bailey. Arlene started her work history as a car checker for CN Rail, then moved on to be a billing clerk at the freight office. After her first child was born, Arlene stayed home to take care of the family.  Arlene loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed gardening.  Mom preserved mostly everything from her garden. Arlene followed her husband, two sons and grandchildren in all their endeavours.  She was a good organizer and never missed a family birthday or event.  Mom loved to follow the VP Bearcats Midget AA team which her son manages.  Arlene was a loyal member of St. Agnes parish, a member of the CWL, and volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul and the funeral lunch group. Arlene loved to spend time at her camp at Cummins Lake.  Mom loved to go shopping in Duluth and seeing the friends she made with the employees at Barkers Island Inn. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Sid, sons Doug (Tammy) and Danny.  Grand children Justin and Jenna, Brother-in-law Ernie (Louise), Gene (Jennette), nieces Elizabeth, Joni, Susan (Rueben), Krista (Larry), and Julie. Predeceased by her mother and father Phyllis and Arthur  Bailey, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Sophie and Stephen Gelmich, sisters Lorraine Teskey and Edna Bailey and Brother-in-law James Teskey.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August  8, 2017, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. James Panikulam.  Interment will follow at a later time in Mountain View Cemetery Visitation will take place in the church one hour prior to the Mass.  If friends desire, in lieu of flowers memorials to the  Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
