Arline Aho

Arline Dolores Aho (nee Cooke), age 88 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 4, 2022.

Born in Port Arthur, she lived all her life in Thunder Bay and in Kivikoski at the Aho homestead on the McIntyre River for over 20 years. Arline attended high school at Port Arthur Tech and was involved in many sports in her youth. She was a proud member of track team on the Finnish Nahjus Athletic Club in the late 40’s. Arline was a bookkeeper by profession and was employed at several local firms during her working career and last retiring from Confederation College in the 90’s. Her main interests were gardening, reading and enjoying nature and animals. She had a very positive outlook on life, liked to laugh and always wore a big smile. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Arline is survived by daughter Janice (Hermann) Huegli, sons Brian (Linda) Aho, Kevin (Sherley) Aho; grandson Mark Aho; sister Linda (Lloyd) Chaykowski and other extended family. Predeceased by her husband Arthur, grandson Jeffrey Aho, sister Barbara (Terry) Sutton, parents Impi and Herman Cooke. Cremation has taken place, there will be no public service held as per Arline’s wishes.

A private family interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire donations to the Lutheran Community Care Centre or the Arthritis Society of Thunder Bay would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
