Mr. Armand Nolet, age 85 years, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Armand was born June 22, 1936, in Sainte-Camille-de-Bellechasse, Quebec to Rose-Hélène and Gédéon Nolet. As a young man he loved the thrill of riding snow machines, including time spent racing in Beausejour, MB. It was in Winnipeg that Armand met Eileen and she soon became The One. They were married August 28, 1976, and together they raised their family in Winnipeg and Dryden (Wabigoon). He was a family man through and through, working and making sure everyone had what they needed.

His kind and generous nature allowed him to make friends wherever he went. When he moved to Thunder Bay, he didn't know anyone, but he did like coffee and soon was part of a regular coffee club. He was willing to help at any time, ready with his tools in his pockets. Armand had a love for fishing and hunting and being able to share that passion with his children. Over the years, Armand had his share of health struggles, but he never complained and persevered through all life's hiccups.

Armand was a career Truck Driver. He was employed with Gardewine North, Dryden Paper Company and several others. His truck was an extension of himself, and he could take or park it anywhere.

Survived by the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Eileen; children, Kelly (Kim) Melanson, Corrina (Les) Jack, Michele Melanson (Robert) and Randy Melanson; grandchildren Justin, Jocelyn, Timothy, Steven, Brian, Becky, Michele, Courtney, Joshua and Kristi; 12 great grandchildren; twin brother, Fern, and siblings, Eugène, Robert, and Doris as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Predeceased by his beloved daughter, Wendy Nolet and grandson Jonathan Shupe; his parents; Gédéon and Rose-Hélène and siblings; Marius, Gédéon, Olivette, Victor, Gerry, Félix, Germaine, Françoise, Marguerite-Rose, and Raymond.

As per Armand’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.

If friends so desire, in keeping with Armand's love of dogs, please consider donations to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society in his memory.
