Arthur Balone

It is with profound sadness that the family of Arthur James Balone announces his peaceful passing on Thursday April 7, 2022.

Arthur was born April 28th 1946 in Cudworth Saskatchewan.  He lived and was raised in Wakaw Saskatchewan growing up and working on the family farm.  He attended local schools and studied crop science at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.  He worked at various jobs in the mining industry travelling all over the Northwest and finished his 30 year career at CP rail as the head diesel mechanic retiring in 2009.

On his travels back from Sudbury in 1971 he stopped in Thunder Bay where he was set up on a blind date by a friend named Judy Boudreau, and met the love of his life Sharon Otway.  They were inseparable and shared a loving bond that would last forever.  They enjoyed the simple things in life, always together riding around town in their Viper with the top down.  Love and family meant the world to both of them and the family takes comfort in knowing that they are reunited together again.

Arthur is survived by his loving daughter Lori Covello (Andrew), loving son Randy Kruskowski, grandchildren Haley Covello (Kyle), Bryce Covello (Morghan), Melissa Sigvaldsen (Eric), great granddaughter Stella, Allan Kruskowski (Sarah), great grandson Nolan, Lauren Kruskowski, and Rachael Kruskowski (Mike).  Siblings Shirley (Rodolfo), Ed, Patricia, and Judy (Randy), and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his loving wife Sharon Balone in 2018 and loving son Bradley Kruskowski in 1980, in-laws Margaret and Tommy Otway, and his parents William and Maryanne Balone and brother Ken.

The family would like to give special thanks to the St.Elizabeth’s healthcare team as well as Dr. Migay, Sherri and the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice Palliative Care Unit.  Your compassion and care towards my Dad will never be forgotten and he thought a lot of you all.

As per Arthur’s wishes there will be no formal service, if friends and family so desire, donations to the heart and stroke foundation in memory of Arthur Balone would be greatly appreciated.  Rest in peace Dad, bye for now.
