On a bright and sunny day our 29-year-old, bright blue-eyed beauty, complete with all of her love, energy, amazing sense of humor, huge zest for life and constant positive attitude was abruptly and completely unexpectedly ripped from our world and passed quietly to the brighter side. Mom Linda, Dad Lawrence and her sister, best friend and confidant Risa are left mourning her presence and missing her desperately. She was so excited about her and Risa’s first home which they just moved into, the dogs Stewart, Benjamin and Raya, her horses Diesel and Rio, and of course her five budgie birds and lest we forget her massive rock collections! Her summers were completely taken up by camp at Arrow Lake, she always said it was her most favourite place in the entire world, there and Maui. She loved her Guardaworld family, Denise Gerkie and her Michael’s family. Besides the aforementioned, left to mourn are grandparents Elroy and Gen Ulmer, Uncle Larry Ulmer, Uncle Tom Siddall and cousin Kyle (Robyn) Siddall, Aunty Rose and special friends Becky and Chris Munroe, Paige (Guardaworld), Jen Hainrich, Janice and Marquis, many, many friends notably her beloved Arrow Lake family. She was predeceased by her grandmother Gail Janot and great-grandmother Pearl Monchakowsky.

Ashton had many great interests, she was very creative, had great love for weather, and was an exceptional photographer. She could take the simplest of objects and turn them into a beautiful photo. She had a diverse knowledge on many subjects and always had a very interesting tid bit of trivia to share. Ashton always fiercely defended the underdog and was never one to not speak her mind if she felt it was needed. She had an amazing talent for finding deals anywhere and you could always count on her to find a coupon if one was available. Ashton loved and was passionate about all animals and was extra keen on helping the environment, she recycled everything and took it upon herself to start a recycling program out at Arrow Lake so the many bottles and recyclables would not go to the landfill.

A celebration of Ashton’s life will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Italian Cultural Centre, 132 Algoma St S, with open mic starting at 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The family invites family and friends to wear something casual yet bright to reflect the bright person Ashton was and will forever be. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society or to the Environmental Earth Angels (on-line donations only) www. earthangels.ca or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.

Because of her amazing personality and the positive mark she left on many, she will be missed dearly by any and all those lives she touched. We love you so very much Ashton and will keep your memory alive.

Until we meet again… Love Mom, Dad and Risa.
