Audrey Gunby of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully on April 27, 2017. Audrey was preceded by her husband Kenneth, her daughter Judy Wrigley, and sisters Evelyn Douglas, Iris Hruska, Muriel Tocheri and Edna Baturniak. Survived by daughter Leslie Sprague (Hugh), son Lorne Gunby (Louise), six grandchildren, Sheila, Timothy, James, Pamela, Scott, and Jennifer, 15 great-grandchildren, and sisters Vera Anderson, Lorena Brown, and Wilma Best. Audrey was born in Stanley and grew up in Fort William. She was employed by the Separate School Board where she taught primary grades and kindergarten. Audrey was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Eastern Star Lodge, Lady Shrine Group, and Teachers Sorority. Audrey and Kenneth spent summers at Arrow Lake and winters in Seminole Florida during their long and happy retirement. Audrey was devoted to her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, May 10th from 7 to 9 pm. at the Blake Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church with Venerable Archdeacon Kraft officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
