God called home Audrey Nikiforos (née Bauman) of Manitouwadge, Ontario peacefully on September 1, 2022, at the age of 71.
Cherished mother to Christina Nikiforos; and proud and adoring Grandmother to Matthaios. Audrey leaves behind her six siblings: June, Stuart, Barbara, Ernest, Thelma, and Phyllis; and their children and grandchildren; And joins her loving parents Andrew and Sarah Bauman of Bloomingdale, Ontario in heaven.
Audrey was kind, generous, funny, empathetic, wise and a good listener. She loved her family, sewing, painting, cooking, and baking. She lived her life devoted to God, and enjoyed helping others through her volunteer work at Superior North Victim Services. During her career at Toronto Transit Commission, Audrey was known as “The Singing Bus Driver”, as she enjoyed making her passengers' bus rides more pleasant by singing cheerful songs.
Audrey will be dearly missed by her many relatives and friends whose lives she touched over the years. In memory of Audrey, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
Forever in our hearts, may she sing with the Angels.
A memorial service, followed by a luncheon will be held in Audrey’s honour on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Calvary United Church in St. Jacobs, Ontario from 10am - 1pm.
