It is with sadness that the family of Augusta Bizjak (nee Kobal) announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, May 31st at the age of 93 years.
Augusta was born in Slovenia on February 24th, 1929, and immigrated to Canada to join her husband. Together they established their home and welcomed their daughter Susan in 1965.
Augusta enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was the life of the party and was always ready for coffee, good conversation and a competitive game of bocce ball. She was also known to cut up the dance floor when opportunity presented itself. As Augusta got older, she embraced the iPad and became an avid puzzle and slots game player.
Augusta was very proud of her Slovenian heritage and kept in contact with her many relatives in Slovenia. She is survived by her daughter Susan and several nieces and nephews and relatives in Europe. Augusta was predeceased by her husband Alojs in 2001.
Augusta will be greatly missed by Susan, family and friends.
Funeral Services for Augusta will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre on Monday, June 6, 2022 Presided by Fr. Luigi Filippini at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will begin an hour prior to the service.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart & Stroke foundation.
